چکیده

Aims. The interpretation of hard X-ray emission from galaxy clusters is still ambiguous and different models proposed can be probed using various observational methods. Here we explore a new method based on Fe line observations. Methods. Spectral line emissivities have usually been calculated for a Maxwellian electron distribution. In this paper a generalized approach to calculate the iron line flux for a modified Maxwellian distribution is considered. Results. We have calculated the flux ratio of iron lines for the various possible populations of electrons that have been proposed to account for measurements of hard X-ray excess emission from the clusters A2199 and Coma. We found that the influence of the suprathermal electron population on the flux ratio is more prominent in low temperature clusters (as Abell 2199) than in high temperature clusters (as Coma).

New X-ray views of the Galactic center observed with Suzaku

We report the diffuse X-ray emissions from the Sgr A and B regions observed with Suzaku. From the Sgr A region, we found many K-shell transition lines of iron and nickel. The brightest are Kα lines from FeI, FeXXV and FeXXVI at 6.4 keV, 6.7 keV and 6.9 keV. In addition, Kα lines of NiI and NiXXVII, Kβ of FeI, FeXXV and FeXXVI, and Kγ of FeXXV and FeXXVI are detected for the first time. The cent...

Iron and Nickel Line Diagnostics for the Galactic Center Diffuse Emission

We have observed the diffuse X-ray emission from the Galactic center (GC) using the X-ray Imaging Spectrometer (XIS) on Suzaku. The high-energy resolution and the low-background orbit provide excellent spectra of the GC diffuse X-rays (GCDX). The XIS found many emission lines in the GCDX near the energy of K-shell transitions of iron and nickel. The most pronounced features are Fe I Kα at 6.4 k...

X-ray line tomography of AGN-induced motion in clusters of galaxies

The thermal broadening of emission lines of heavy ions is small enough such that Doppler shifts due to bulk motions may be detected with the next generation of X-ray observatories. This opens up the possibility to study gas velocities in the intra-cluster medium. Here we study the effect of bulk motions induced by a central active galactic nucleus (AGN) on the emission lines around the FeXXV co...

baryonic matter distribution in the large-scale structures is one of the main questions in cosmology. This distribution can provide valuable information regarding  the processes of galaxy formation and evolution. On the other hand, the missing baryon problem is still under debate. One of the most important cosmological structures for studying the rate and  the distribution of the baryons is gal...

Fabrication and Characterization of Novel Mixed Matrix Polyethersulfone Nanofiltration Membrane Modified by Iron-Nickel Oxide Nanoparticles

In this study, a mixed matrix polyethersulfone/iron-nickel oxide nanoparticle nanofiltration membrane was prepared by the solution casting technique. Polyvinylpyrrolidone was also used as a membrane pore former in membrane fabrication. The effect of iron-nickel oxide nanoparticles concentration in the casting solution on the membrane structure and performance was investigated. Scanning...
